Contingency use

My husband has a degenerative neurological condition

His condition is deteriorating He has not been reassessed for 3 years despite requests for this We had notification in May of assessment

The story re assessment is long complicated and stressful Main issue is as my husbands needs have increased I have used contingency to fund extra care hours This on advice on local SDS support organization I have documented all care hours and provided invoices from care company and timesheets from PAs as well as direct debit statements from payroll company and bank statements and never have less than £1000 in account I have now had letter from financial review which feels accusatory basically telling me

I have to keep 8 weeks contingency in account at all times (prior to this i didn’t know what the contingency was) That I am not allowed to pay for any extra hours and have to stick to the hours allocated 3 years ago

That they will check in 8 weeks to ensure I have used the budget accordingly

My husbands condition has deteriorated significantly

My own health has deteriorated (I am 73 diabetic)

I am unable to provide the same level of informal care as I did 3 years ago and have been waiting over 18 months for care assessment for myself

The whole thing feels accusatory and is focused on the budget use and not on my husbands increasing need or my deteriorating health

The stress is colossal This has been going on since May I had suspected TIA 10 days ago I have asked for help from local Advocacy who have attended meetings with SWA doing the assessment Financial assistant refuses to meet Meanwhile we continue in limbo

Any advice would be welcome
